Ich habe einen Restic-Backup-Konfigurator gebaut – die Einstellungen werden im Browser gespeichert.
Ihr könnt dort alles konfigurieren und braucht dann nur noch den fertigen Befehl zu kopieren.
Ist aber noch nicht ganz fertig; war ursprünglich hauptsächlich für mich privat gedacht, weil ich keine Lust hatte, die Befehle ständig raussuchen zu müssen.

Ich habe - als kleines Experiment - einen NUC mit Baujahr ~ 2017, 4 GB RAM und einem Pentium N 4200 mal mit #chromeos ausgestattet und ich muss sagen: Das Ding ist überraschend schnell, alles läuft absolut flüssig (Yoututbe spielt ein 4k Video ab während im Hintergrund ein Veloren Update in der Linux VM läuft und ich hier in Mastodon poste)... koloriere mich beeindruckt kann ich nur sagen...

Nach langer Zeit probiere ich mal wieder eine #Nextcloud aufzusetzen und ehrlich gesagt: Es hat sich einiges zum positiven verändert. Mal schauen, wenn sich das im Testbetrieb bei mir privat bewährt werde ich die Firma vielleicht auch von der Seafile wieder dahin ziehen...

My new @nitrokey 3 Mini did arrive 😊

Open source crypto-module done right. It’s already my 3rd one (I have already the big Nitrokey 3A and a Nitrokey HSM for my PKI)

The mini will be my backup key with its own GPG subkeys just to have redundancy plus I’ll add it as a second Passkey to several websites.

Did some proper restore-tests of my offsite backups and restored them one after another into a local virtual machine (KVM) and verified that they decrypt, restore and boot correctly 🙂 (including our Mastodon instance burningboard.net)

It's good to have backups, but it's an even better feeling when you know, they work, restore correctly and the procedure has been tested.

All check marks green, next test in January 2026 🙂

The power-management of the Lenovo T14s Gen4 AMD Ryzen has gotten significantly better in Kernel 6.17, WOW !!

5.77 W battey discharge with the 2,8K OLED display on 40% brightness and just 620.4 wakeup/s that is *a ton* better than anything, I've seen with that device in the last 2,5 years.

The powe-rmanagement for the Ryzen Pro CPUs was notoriously bad on linux.

My last test, which was shortly after the release of Fedora 42 was stil in the 7.8-8.0W range ...

Slowly that laptop is getting feasable on Linux 🙂
